U.S. Ambassador: "See You Soon"

US Ambassador to China, Jon Huntsmanended his term and returned to the USA.
Mediaspotlighted his potential Republican campaign.Chinese netizens praised
his deeds in Chinaand said they expect to "see him soon".

Jon Huntsman uploaded on April 28 a farewell photoon the embassy site with
final words of departure.

On another microblog, he wrote about a pictureof him standing beside his
official portraitthat this one was already placednext to other previous
ambassadors.

Jon Huntsman was awarded as "2011 Annual Figure"for his excellent
diplomatic achievementsand was referred to as "US value"by the Chamber of
Commerce in South Washington.

He pointedly criticized Chinese authorities(Chinese Communist Party, CCP)
during his speechon April 6 for their terrible human rights record, while
praised figures such as Ai Weiwei andChen Guangcheng. This is the most
acute critiqueof human rights from American officials in 2011.

Huntsman: "The US will never stop the supportfor human rights, knowing that
human rights andjustice are the bottom line shared by all mankind."

The US envoy Bosiwosi said in the latest US-ChinaDialogue that China's
human rights are regressing.

Bao Tong, secretary of former CCP chief secretary, said in an interview with
Deutsche Welle:

"The US ambassador was proven right, from Liu Xiaobo to Tan Zuoren and Ai
Weiwei,it's an apparent fact that it is the CCP that violatesChina's human
rights throughout."

Responding to the CCP's rebuke of US interferingin China's internal affairs
during the rights dialogue,Bao said that CCP failed to fulfill its internal
dutiesby its persecution and illegal detentions, for which CCP was to blame.

The misuse of internal affairs is an excuse, given Ai Weiwei's case, for
which CCP is responsible.

Huntsman was regarded as a sensitive figure by CCPdue to his presence in a
February Jasmine rally, and his US-China exchange programs were canceled.

According to UKs Financial Times, US governmentmight tighten policies on
CCP officials and familiesto obtain visas for the USA.

Mao's Villain Background?

Mao Xinyu, grandson of the former leaderMao Zedong, again said something
ludicrouswhile visiting the origin of the famous Chineseclassical
novel "Outlaws of the Marsh",including using class analysis to study the
issueof offering amnesty to rebels. He also saidthat this visit intensified
his understanding ofMao's revolution. Media commentedthat his remarks
equated to admittingMao has a villain background.

Local authorities said on April 28, that Mao Xinyuand his wife visited
Mount Liang, Shangdong, place of origin of the novel "Outlaws of the
Marsh".As a Major General, Mao Xinyu was greetedby people mimicking the 108
outlaws in the novel.

Local media said, that Mao Xinyu traced the routeused by Mao to Mount Liang
in 1919,insisting he ought to learn from his grandfather. He also said that
the Chinese revolution requiredone to know his or her roots.

When asked how to evaluate the amnesty to rebels, written in the novel, he
said to use the class analysis. He also stated, that after visiting Mount
Lianghe has a better understanding of how rebels fought.

Mao Xinyu's words sparked laughter amid netizens. Some said that without
being pressed he confessedthat his ancestors originated from
villains.Others pointed out, that Mao Zedong was indeeda bandit at one time.

But does Mao really have a villain background?

After his Autumn Harvest Uprising was defeatedby KMT, Mao took his 700
remaining soldiersto Mount Jinggang to become bandits.Records have it that
he bribedtwo leaders of the local banditswith some ammunitions in exchange
for his life.Later, he killed these two leadersand controlled the entire
bandit gangs in the region. This record of Mao coincides remarkably withthat
depicted in the novel "Outlaws of the Marsh".

Guo Guoting, former Chinese lawyer said:"Mao Zedong can be regarded as
originatingfrom villains, since his deeds resembledthose of bandits. After
he got to Mount Jinggang, how could he survive? He survived by the
so-called"fighting the local tyrants and gentries."What does this mean? It
is robbingthe local rich people. Mao's Red Armyindeed kidnapped, robbed and
killedin the Mount Jinggang region in order to survive."

Su Min, former Beijing University history professor, said the Chinese
authorities are a bandit government.

Su Min: "Bandits pursue materials like wine, meatand money. For these, they
dare to kill, rob, kidnap, rape, seize and steal. What the Chinese
communistregime did in the first and second 30 yearsall came down to what
the bandits could have done. So, it would not be an exaggeration to
perceivethe CCP's regime as a bandit government."

Mao Zedong once said that he liked to readthis novel when he was young. He
often quotedthe novel in his works and said, this novel advocatesopposition
to corrupt officials, but not to emperor. He also said, the quintessence of
this novel lays inthe capitulation. It exemplified what surrender was.

"Outlaws of the Marsh", also knownas "Water Margin" or "All Men Are
Brothers",is the first novel by Shi Naian in Chinese literaturethat details
the entire course of 108 outlawsfrom their uprisings, successes and
tribulationsduring the Song Dynasty.

Tibetan Exiles' New Leader

on April 27 that Dr. Lobsang Sangay, a HarvardLaw School research fellow,
was elected asPrime Minister of the exiled Tibetans. This marks the end of
Tibet's 300 years of theocracy.Experts said that the new situation would be
encouragingto the Tibetans in China, but embarrassing to the CCP.

The voters-in-exile were from 13 countries, includingIndia, U.S.A., Canada,
and Australia. The number ofvoters was about 50,000. Due to the pressure
fromthe Chinese authorities (CCP), over 20,000 Tibetansin Nepal and Bhutan
were barred from voting.

Rep of Tibetan government in Taiwan, Dawa Tseringsaid, the election marked
the end of Tibet's theocracyand the establishment of a democracy.

Dawa Tsering: It marks the end of Tibetan theocracy, which was established
in 1642 by the 5th Dalai Lama. From an institutional perspective or on the
theoreticallevel, the political system is being democratized.Tibet is on
the road of no return towards democracy.

Lobsang Sangay, 43, was born in India and graduatedfrom the Univ. of Delhi.
He served as leader of TibetanYouth Congress. In 1995, he went to the U.S.
and laterreceived his DJS from Harvard Univ. After graduation,he worked as
a research fellow at Harvard Law School.

Spokesman Thupten Samphel for Tibetan authoritiestold VOA, Lobsang Sangay's
biggest challenge is howto continue dialogue with the CCP for Tibetan
issues.

Dawa Tsering believes the CCP lacks sincerity inpeace talks. Changes within
the Tibetans in exilecannot solve the Sino-Tibetan problems. The CCP is very
angry at the new situation, becauseit can no longer control Tibet through
supportingreligious leaders, as Dalai Lama has already quit.

Dawa Tsering: Regardless the situation, the CCP government will attack it
and call it cheating.Of course, the CCP would certainly be embarrassed,as
it said that there was no Tibetan issue, but only the issue with the Dalai
Lama.Since Dalai Lama is no longer the government leader, the CCP will be
forced to face the existing Tibetan issue. In the past, it could use obscure
or religious means. Now it has to face the issue directly.

To the Tibetans in China, the situation of secularismis an encouraging
prospect for their future.

Dawa Tsering: The Tibetans inside Tibet also want afuture for Tibet. They
want to know if the Dalai Lamais no longer around one day, what kind of
situationand development will take place. Many Tibetans inside China who
hope for a democraticfuture Tibet want to have clearer prospects. This
democratic election and Dalai Lama's retirementactually give such a
prospect to the Tibetan people.

Lobsang Sangay has said that he fully supportedDalai Lama's pursuit of the
middle road.It is to seek Tibet's autonomy under the Chinese rule, instead
of independence.Retired professor Yang Liyu of Seton Hall Universitytold
Radio Free Asia that in the foreseeable future,Lobsang Sangay wouldn't
deviate from the middle road. However, there can be changes in the long
run.He belongs to the younger generation. Many of this generation advocate
independence.

The CCP authorities recently arrested 300 monksin Kirti Temple in Aba
County and killed two villagers.Tibetan exiles in Dharmsala, India, are
protestingthe CCP's new round of bloody crackdown.

Rights Lawyers Still Missing in China

Movements in North Africa and the Middle Easthave stirred responses in
China, but the CCP(Chinese Communist Party) continue to suppressactivists
and dissidents on a large scale.Since February, many human rights lawyers
havebeen kidnapped, raising international concerns. The recently released
refuse to reveal their ordeals.Outside concerns have been abused by the CCP.

On April 29, Li Fangping, a Beijing legal consultantwas forcibly taken away
at 5:30 PMafter case discussions on discriminationabout hepatitis B virus
carriers.

In 2010, Li Fangping counseled poison milk powdervictim's parent Zhao
Lianhai. Li also once defendedFalun Gong practitioners. In 2006, when
counselingChen Guangcheng, Li was beaten in Shandong. In 2008, Li
disappeared from his home, whilehe and Li Jinsong were counseling activist
Hu Jia.

Since February this year, human rights lawyershave been frequently abducted
including Teng Biao,Jiang Tianyong, Tang Jitian, Liu Yuan,Jin Guanghong,
Liu Shihui, Tang Jingling,Liu Zhengqing, and Li Tiantian. Some are still
missing.

Zhang Jiankang (Shaanxi human rights lawyer):"Based on international human
rights law, enforced disappearance is against humanity. The CCP took it as a
rule method. It will only lose its own credibility."

On April 29, attorney Teng Biao in Beijingreturned home after missing for
70 days. His wife said he hasn't spoken of his disappearance, and currently
refuses to speak anything about it.

Attorney Jiang Tianyong, arrested on the same dayas Teng, and attorney Liu
Xiaoyuan, who has been missing for 5 days, returned homeon April 19. But
none speak of what happenedduring their time away. Attorney Tang Jitianis
under home arrest in Jilin Province.

According to Human Rights Defenders,Beijing attorney Jin Guanghong who has
defendedFalun Gong practitioners was released on April 19.He recalled his
kidnap, where he was takenfrom the streets on April 8 or 9, and then
throwninto detention centers and psychiatric hospitals. He was beaten, tied
up in bed to take injections, medication, and even forced-fed through his
nose.

Attorney Liu Zhengqing in Guangzhou was arrestedon March 25 and his home
was ransacked. Now he has been released on bail. His family saidhis arrest
may be related to his Falun Gong case.

Attorney Liu Shihui in Guangzhou was attackedin February during the first
Jasmine activities. His leg bones were broken. Several days later, police
took him away and ransacked his home.He is now in a 6-month monitoring
residence.

Attorney Tang Jingling in Guangzhou was arrestedin late February. After his
release, his face looked rigid, as if not recognizing people. He is currently
in a monitoring residence, because of "inciting subversion to state power,"

On April 13, attorney Ni Yulan was disabledand detained since being against
forced evictionsfor the Olympics, becoming the first lawyer detainedafter
Jasmine activities. Albert Ho, Chairmanof Chinese Human Rights Lawyers
Concern Groupin Hong Kong strongly condemned this.

Cao Changqing (commentator): "A long-term strongsuppression will arouse
great rebounds in society. These lawyers did not try to overthrow the
CCP,having no such political demands or slogans.Still CCP arrested them
frequently at will.Even those who did some rights-safeguardingactivities,
like Ai Weiwei, were caught up too.The arrests will encourage CCP's
insiders, including high-level officials with different views, and will awake
ordinary Chinese people."

Hong Kong's TVB station documentary"Chinese Lawyers Dancing In Shackles",
showedthe difficulties of Chinese lawyers undera dependent judiciary, with
stories of famousChinese attorneys Zhang Sizhi, Xu Zhiyong, etc.

Human rights lawyers have been persecuted moreby CCP in recent years. UN
human rightsorganizations, U.S. State Department,Amnesty International and
others, are concernedon cases like that of Gao Zhisheng, missing for over a
year, and blind lawyerChen Guangcheng who is monitored closely. The U.S.
recently reviewed human rights in Chinaand revealed rights infringements
are worsening.

Secret Arrests in China

Recently, the Chinese government's official mediaare prating on
"tolerance". Meanwhile, many dissidents, lawyers, artists are secretly
arrested. What do these articles from official media indicate? How do
outsiders interpret them? Let's take a look.

Sino-U.S Human Rights Dialogue closed on April 28.U.S. said that the
dialogue achieved little. The media felt bleak on the dialogue outlook.Same
day, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) media,People Daily editorial commented
thatas China is in a multi-variant period, more rational and peaceful
discussions are needed. It also criticized the practices of mutual
scolding,intimidate labeling and slanderous conviction.

This editorial triggered different reactions. Some think the CCP requested
the West's "tolerance"towards its one party rule without exerting
pressure; Some think the CCP calls on the ordinary peopleto be "tolerant "
in seething discontent with CCP;others see it as CCP's show before its
internal election.

Wu Baozhang, ex-head of Chinese section ofRadio France: CCP has always
played with words. It says good-sounding things to paralyze your mind, but it
never does what it says,as these things are a trick. No need to pay
attention.

Regardless the interpretation of Chinese andoverseas media, all have
witnessed CCP'srecent outrageous arrests of dissidents.

Since Feb, Tang Jitian, Teng Biao, Jiang Tianyong,Liu Xiaouuan, Liu Shihui
and other rights lawyerswere arrested by the CCP's plainclothes.Tang Jitian
is under house arrest with tuberculosis; After Jiang Tianyong and Teng Biao
were released, they didn't disclose anything, possibly under
threat.ZheJiang-based democracy activist Zhu Yufu wasarrested on Mar. 5,
facing his potential 3rd jail term.Renowned artist Ai Weiwei was arrested
on Apr. 3,triggering serious global criticism against the CCP.

On Apr. 29, rights lawyer Li Fangping was abducted. On May 1, over 30
Beijing house church members, including 2 kids were arrested for praying
outdoor.

Guo Guoding, an exiled lawyer from Shanghai:CCP suppresses people with
violence and terror, but its suppression cannot last forever. Its tyranny has
pushed tens of millions of peopleto the opposite side. Thus, the CCP is an
enemy to all.

According to Voice of America, in China,at least one major group incident
arises each week.Incidents involving thousands happen once 3 weeks.
